Poem: Back on the Shelf

Standard
You might be the wrong lover
Maybe I should look for another
I know you feel the same
It in the way you say my name
And how you look around the room
Trying to find a love to consume,
All of you
You need to feel that longing
Need to feel that sense of belonging

You might blame this on me
But darling I can see
The doubt in your eyes
When you say those lies
You don't even believe yourself
So maybe, it's time that we put this love back on the self

There's something about you
That drives me insane
Everytime you say my name
And do the things you do
When you get nervous
You make me feel like I have a purpose

It doesn't matter what we do
Or where we go
I didn't want to fall fast
But now that I have, I want it to last
I don't care if we go slow
As long as I'm with you

Show me how
Tell me now
If you want to be
With me
