You might be the wrong lover
Maybe I should look for another
I know you feel the same
It in the way you say my name
And how you look around the room
Trying to find a love to consume,
All of you
You need to feel that longing
Need to feel that sense of belonging

You might blame this on me
But darling I can see
The doubt in your eyes
When you say those lies
You don't even believe yourself
So maybe, it's time that we put this love back on the self

I want to reach out and help you
But I feel useless like there is nothing I can do
I can see the pain in your eyes
I can see through your lies –
Saying that you’ll be alright
This isn’t a battle you have to fight
You don’t have to do this alone

Whatever your problem, big or small
I’ll help you to pick yourself up and walk tall

I know that you can do
Anything you put your mind to
And so does everyone else too
Have a little self belief and be proud of who you are
It doesn’t matter that you’re not rich and that you don’t drive a fancy car
You’re you, the one who means so much too so many
To those who don’t care if you don’t have a single penny

I know I’m not perfect
But I do my best to get as close as I can
You say I don’t need to change
I see the doubt of you own words in your eyes
Our relationship used to be fine
I knew one hundred percent you were mine
But lately people made me question how we feel
And if our love is real
To them we can’t be
Anything more than average
But I thought we were perfect
And nothing less
It was only you I wanted to impress
People started talking
Then my mind started walking
Going round and round
Thinking about
All the little things you said
The looks you give the other girls
The distance you’re putting between you and me
Maybe it’s just me
Or what they’re saying we’re becoming to be

Tell me they’re wrong
And it’s in my heart you belong
Say things will always be perfect
Between you and me
Say there’s no need to question it

How many chances before you call it a day?
How many lies have I got to hear before I get my say?
I’m hearing so much nonsense
Boy don’t you have a conscience
Can’t you see what you’re doing to me?
A romantic gesture, on bended knee
That isn’t going to help you now
I can’t even scream about that other cow
You’ve reduced me to petty name calling
I wish I’d known when you had me falling
That I wouldn’t be your only
The last to call when you got lonely
I won’t be running back
I refuse to let the tears leave tracks
I’m turning my back on you
And everything you say you will do
Your words mean nothing
I’m just going to concentrate on living
This is the step I have to take

I can listen to you lie
But every time another part of me will die

Just like a gunshot to my heart
A bullet to my brain
But by your side I still remain

I’m told I deserve better
More than a jailbird and his monthly letter
Locked away for his violence
Without him around the house is filled with a deathly silence
No crashing plates
No drug taking mates
Just me and my bruises

I know people think you’re abusive
I know people think I’m stupid
Maybe even deluded
How can you help who you fall for?
But I can’t withstand this love anymore

I am stronger than this
Not taken in by your kiss
I’ll tell it to you straight
But I’ve left it too late

Now I am the reason you’re in your cell
Accompanied to my farewell
Maybe it was just a possessive love
Now I can only be represented by a white dove
