Nothing feels right So I follow the light Heading up into the night One day we will reunite But until then I'll be alright I'll just float around In this new life I'm not making a sound Where I head to I can't tell you But one day you will find me Just when that is I can't guarantee
Promise to visit me at my graveside Tell me about your day, know that in me you can confide And I'll be there every day to help and guide Because even though you can't see me I'll always be by your side
I can listen to you lie But every time another part of me will die And another tear I will cry Just like a gunshot to my heart A bullet to my brain But by your side I still remain
I’m told I deserve better More than a jailbird and his monthly letter Locked away for his violence Without him around the house is filled with a deathly silence No crashing plates No drug taking mates Just me and my bruises
I know people think you’re abusive I know people think I’m stupid Maybe even deluded How can you help who you fall for? But I can’t withstand this love anymore
I am stronger than this Not taken in by your kiss I’ll tell it to you straight But I’ve left it too late
Now I am the reason you’re in your cell Accompanied to my farewell Maybe it was just a possessive love Now I can only be represented by a white dove
Don’t stereotype me Please don’t tell me who I should be In my head I know And that’s how my personality is going to grow I see all the problems you see Don’t try and blame them on me The streets have a voice Every person has a choice Decide what path their going to take What laws their going to break Nobody will force the weapon in their hand Buts lets join together and make a stand Guide them to the right way It’s your turn to be a role model today Take some responsibilities Don’t be blaming us for all the controversies
We drive you to the brink Day after day you see another turn to the drink I’ll stand up for those without a voice I’ll stand up for those without a choice I’m proud to be different Not like all the others up the duff you know, pregnant I’m at college everyday Are you getting what I’m trying to say? I’m not like them Most of their choices I don’t condemn Not smoking, not ever Have I taken drugs? No never Don’t judge what you don’t understand That’s why I’m making a stand and raising my stand I’ve got a voice And I’m making my choice
I see where you last lay And then I pray If I knew what brought them to do this But that wouldn’t change what I miss What if I was there? Would you still be here? Why have you been taken from us like this? Is it like some cruel test? Everything passes in a haze I’m living in a daze All I can see is where you last lay And then I wish I was with you on your last day You’ve gone and won’t be coming back All I ask for, Is one more day. God, please reunite is someway
Cold and lonely I know for sure he won’t be the only No bed or food Is it a wonder he’s in such a bad mood Passersby narrowing their eyes No words pass their lips, not a hello or goodbye Rejected by society Not trusted with any responsibility Neglected and alone Without a shelter to call home Roaming the street Trying to survive in the extreme heat With one companion, man’s best friend Just to live, every law he has to bend

Poem:
Just last night I was laying awake thinking about the dream I should have been dreaming
The people I wish I could stop from screaming
So many lose their lives
Fighting to save you and I
What about their husbands and wives
what about the children with parents in the sky
They say it has to get worse before it gets better
Would you say that to a mother reading that unforgettable letter
The world is filled with so much pain
And yet we still moan and complain
Our lives are so easy compared to so many others
Like those without sisters and brothers, fathers and mothers
Would you want someone to forget to donate?
If you didn't have any food on your plate?
If you were a soldier contemplating your fate?
The world is a horrible place sometimes
So many people fall on hard times
But all I can do I pray they find a miracle so that can survive
And live another day in their lives
You see they're fighting for you and me
So that we can be whatever we want to be
They're giving their lives
So spend a minute, think about those who didn't survive
Cause they're doing it for us
Not for some sort of a buzz
They are our pride
We shouldn't have anything to hide
It's time we gave a thought to all the families
And forgot about all of the controversies
Let's support them in what they need to do
Remember it's for me and you
