Poem: Not An Imitation

Standard

How do you tell the one you love
You’re in love with another
Who promises the world
Not just material things like diamonds and pearls
A man who treats me like a princess
He doesn’t listen to my past as if it’s something I should confess
Promising to help me succeed my dreams
And test life to its extremes
A complete gentleman
One who will pay for meals and hold open doors
Who will carry you shopping from the store
The only person you want to catch you when you fall
The first to be in your missed calls

A real man
Not an imitation of one

What do you think?
